The challenge

Operations personnel who for example run a refinery, chemical plant or any other production facility typically struggle to pull together a complete, timely picture of operations data, on the basis of which they can monitor and improve the operations. Like missing pieces of a puzzle, critical information is often scattered throughout a variety of databases, enterprise applications and operational systems in a wide range of formats. If this information does come together in a meaningful way, it is often in a periodic report that is produced long after the opportunity to react to the information has passed.

End user driven operations intelligence

The Cordys solution enables end users to create their own Operations Intelligence applications in a very intuitive and simple graphical modeler. The ease of use and smart integration with real-time data source as well as calculation engines makes Cordys Operations Intelligence an excellent tool for companies that rely on permanent monitoring of data sources for operating processes to function effectively.

Cordys Operations Intelligence has been developed in close cooperation with a leading energy and petrochemical company. The challenge we were given was really put operations intelligence in the hand of end users. The result is a product that allows a business user to compose an operations intelligence application in no more than 20 minutes. Compared to traditional approach where a request for such an application would be handled by scarce IT resources and could easily take up to three weeks lead time, this is a dramatic improvement.

As the design and deployment is completely browser based, those applications and dashboards can be composed by anybody at anytime and anywhere around the globe.
