Getronics and Cordys to Innovate Hosting Market with Cloud Platform

Putten and Zoetermeer, The Netherlands, 14 September 2010 – Getronics, a leading global ICT service provider, and Cordys, a leading provider of software for business process innovation, today announced a strategic partnership, to jointly offer cloud services to the market. Under the agreement, Getronics will act as reseller for a new Cloud solution based on the Cordys Process Factory in combination with Getronics’ extended hosting services.

The new solution offered by Getronics and Cordys consists of a platform with Cloud services for the European market and provides organizations of any type or size the possibility to mix and match existing on-premise enterprise systems with processes and applications made available on the Web. The platform will be available as a public Cloud as well as a private Cloud solution.

Per Jonsson, Cordys Chief Executive Officer stated: “Cloud computing is changing the IT landscape in a fast pace but most organizations will not move their entire infrastructure to the cloud. Enterprise software systems will remain in the legacy on-premise environment. The challenge for these companies is to integrate their robust on-premise systems with the agile and collaborative business services and applications available on the Web and to improve their business operations faster.”

Cordys Process Factory is a web-based, easy to use platform to build rich business applications. With this online cloud platform, users, developers, independent software providers and other Getronics partners can easily develop process-centric applications which can be provisioned and marketed in the new Cloud solution. These MashApps® (Mashup Applications) enable Getronics and its partners to offer their customers ready-to-use ad hoc applications in a 100% web-based environment without the need for time consuming development projects or capital expenditure.

Erik van der Meijden, Chief Executive Officer of Getronics: “Today’s economic climate requires organizations to react extremely fast to changes in market conditions and to adopt business models with continuous process improvement. This objective cannot always be achieved with traditional software development and implementation models. IT departments have to find new ways of answering the ever-changing business demands. The partnership with Cordys allows Getronics to add considerable value to our hosting services and offer an entirely new proposition to our customers and partners that will help them to massively increase their pace of operational improvement.”

Per Jonsson added: “The Cordys platform enables the orchestration of multiple services and applications in the Cloud and their “on-the-fly” connection with on-premise systems, without the need for programming or expensive integration projects. This creates a unique competitive advantage for Getronics, allowing them to offer a complete Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business model to their customers and Partners. Organizations moving to these Cloud based applications within a pay-as-you-go model will be able to improve the IT effectiveness and achieve their business objectives faster.”
