World Bank chooses Cordys for global e-procurement

The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. It is made up of two unique development institutions owned by 185 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).

Secure web-based procurement
The Corporate Procurement Unit of the World Bank is chartered with managing all aspects of firm and consultant procurement for various donor or trust funded development around the world. The Cordys Business Operations Platform was selected from a long list of vendors to automate this global procurement system. The Cordys solution proposed is a secure web-based tool that supports current and prospective consulting firms doing business with the World Bank. It also provides the World Bank with procurement policies, management and control of processes with full visibility, procurement transparency and operational reporting.

Integration with SAP
The major components of the Cordys Business Operations Platform will be used, including Cordys BPMS for the bid workflow, Rich UI tools with context sensitive help, Cordys Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) for important notifications, and the Cordys SOA Grid for Integration with SAP and other existing software.

Strategic partnership with Counterpoint Consulting
Cordys worked closely together with its strategic partner Counterpoint Consulting; this combination showed excellent understanding of the business requirements as well as the technical needs of the World Bank. 

The World Bank
