Software Engineer - Support

Needs to interact with IT teams across the organization regarding all support related problems and involve in activities related to any escalations.

The qualified candidate will be reporting to Support Manager and progress reporting for all tasks will be done to Line managers.

Departmental Expectations

  • Must carry out the Support Process activities of Case resolution & Correspondence with customer.
  • Must posses good problem solving, analytical, diagnosis and debugging skills
  • Adhere to the support defined relevant for the work domain and raise issues and contribute suggestions wherever required in planning, processes, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and written
  • Must apply Quality Assurance concepts and standards
  • Must be able to suggest new ideas or proposal for simplifications or improvements of ones
  • own area of work.
  • Must inform the customer as and when critical patches are available
  • Must be able to maintain knowledge base and FAQ
  • Good understanding of the support processes  & SLAs
  • Must be willing to work in shifts.

Team Responsibility:

  • If required should be capable of leading a team
  • Should mentor the team and juniors
  • Take responsibility of the product ownership and interact with the Development Co-ordinator to resolve the errors/bugs etc.

Required Skills:

Candidate should be have good work experience in Problem solving, Analytical and Diagnosis Skills, Maintain Support/Test setups, Configuration Management, Deployment Concepts & Exposure, Database Knowledge, ERP Knowledge, Business concepts, Knowledge on Software Development process, Object Oriented Technology (OOAD), Office Tools, Technical Knowledge, Programming Knowledge – Java & HTML.

Experience:

Candidate should have 2 years of industry experience preferably with

a minimum of 1+ year in Product Support/ Maintenance or Software development in a Product Development environment.

Qualification:

BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc/M.Tech, will be preferred.
