The Senior Test & Automation Engineer will work closely with various Development teams to design and implement test automation frameworks for conducting automated regression tests and provide assistance to developers and technical leads in all aspects of automate testing and be responsible for general maintenance of automated test scripts through test cycle.

Responsibilities

• Defining/deriving performance requirements
• Planning performance tests
• Developing performance test scripts
• Conducting/executing performance tests
• Analyzing performance bottlenecks (root cause analysis)
• Software performance modeling
• Performance tuning
• Performance management throughout software development life cycle
• Performance benchmarking
• Developing hardware sizing guides
• Provide assistance to developers and technical leads in performance related issues 

Required Skills

• Should be self motivated and good team player
• Should have good communication, analytical and debugging skills
• Should have thorough knowledge in database, network (Internet and Intranet) and operating system concepts
• Should have knowledge of database performance tuning (MS SQL Server and Oracle)
• Should have knowledge of performance tuning web servers(Apache and IIS)
• Should have command in using performance engineering tools like SilkPerformer, Loadrunner, VTune Performance Analyzer, JProbe etc.
• Familiarity with ERP and EAI development environments will be added advantage
• Should be familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Thorough knowledge of XML, SOAP, HTTP, Web services and other Internet technologies
• Should be familiar with fundamentals of algebra and statistics

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software industry. The experience should comprise of following attributes
• At least 2 years of experience in all kinds of performance testing (load testing), CPU profiling, memory profiling, thread profiling and network profiling.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development using Java, C, C++, VB, VC++, Java script, HTML, HTTP, XML, SOAP
• Development experience in Internet based application is added advantage
• Knowledge and experience in performance tuning MS SQL Server and Oracle databases

Qualification

BE / B-Tech / M-Tech / ME / MCA / MS / M.Sc or equivalent
