Welcome to the April 2007 edition of Engage
This month Cordys was proud to
announce the single largest investment in an independent BPMS vendor, with an
$80 million equity financing deal.
This is a major milestone for both the company and Cordys customers, since the invested capital significantly increases our ability to build and support our customer base across the globe, particularly in North America.
Jan Baan released the first in a series of articles that will share his visionary viewpoints on how technology innovations can positively impact today’s enterprise. The first “Letter from Jan Baan” highlights the significance of the convergence between BPMS and SOA.
We feature an interesting article from BP Trends that looks at Business Process Initiatives. The article looks at ways companies can benchmark success by looking at both the types of initiatives being undertaken and how they can be measured in terms of Return On Investment (ROI).
In other company news, Cordys was revealed as one of the finalists for the 2007 Red Herring 100 Europe Awards, which recognizes the top 100 private ventures in Europe. Cordys also announced a license agreement with Informatie Beheer Groep (IB-Groep), which increases Cordys’ capabilities for government-oriented organizations.
Finally, this month we reveal our refreshed branding, which is reflected in this newsletter, throughout the Cordys website and in the new Cordys collateral. The new look and feel reflects our commitment to providing clean and practical technology solutions to today’s enterprise business issues. We would welcome any feedback you may have.
Best regards,

Cordys secures single largest investment in an independent BPMS Company
Cordys has announced the successful completion of an
$80 million (Euro 60 million) equity financing round involving Argonaut Private
Equity and Jan Baan.
This represents the single largest round of funding for an independent, private BPMS vendor and points to the uniqueness of Cordys' technology in a rapidly growing BPMS software market. The funds will predominantly be used to expand Cordys’ operations in the United States, Cordys Inc., a wholly owned North American subsidiary.
Convergence of BPMS and SOA: Making Beautiful Music Together
As recently as 2005, a leading independent analyst firm
estimated that less than 6% of processes within the Global 2000 were fully
automated. Given the avalanche of hype surrounding Business Process Management
(BPM), this stubborn prevalence of manual and non-standardized processes can
seem mysterious.
In the first in a series of letters, Jan Baan gives his visionary view on why the convergence of BPM and SOA is hugely significant for today’s dynamic enterprise.
This survey is focused on the ROI of Business Process Initiatives. One of the
main goals of the survey was to examine and benchmark the level of success
achieved by companies that have deployed some kind of business process
improvement program. In other words, we wanted to find out who is doing what and how they did it. At the same time we also
wanted to find out what the financial results organizations where achieving,
measured, if possible, in terms of Return On
Investment (ROI).
